Integrator

An integrator performs the mathematical operation of integration. Use this building block to convert signals.

  • Notice a square wave is converted into a triangle wave.
  • Notice a triangle wave is converted into a sine wave.
  • Please play with the frequencies and notice that the signal outputs will change unfavourably (scaling, offset and shape).

Differentiator

The Differentiator performs the mathematical operation of integration. It amplifies the rate of change of the input signal. This means that the output voltage will be large when the input voltage is changing rapidly, and small when the input voltage is changing slowly. Use this building block to convert signals.

  • Notice the square wave is converted into spikes. These spikes can be used to shortly trigger something.
  • Notice the triangle wave is converted into a square.
  • Please play with the frequencies and notice that the signal outputs will change unfavourably.

Voltage to current converter

Formula

Iout = Vin / R

  • Please play with the variable voltage in the simulator, and notice the amperage changing.

Current to voltage converter

  • Please play with the resistor and current source in the simulator.
