Active Filters
What It Does
Filters are used to remove unwanted frequencies from a signal. They can be used to remove noise, remove DC offsets or for waveshaping.
The main disadvantage of passive filters is that they cannot amplify signals, meaning that the output signal will always be less than or equal to the input signal. Additionally, the load impedance can affect the filter's characteristics. Active filters, on the other hand, use op-amps to buffer or amplify signals to provide more flexibility and stability.
Inverting op-amp low-pass filter
- Change R2 or for a different frequency behaviour.
Inverting opamp high-pass filter
- Change R1 or for a different frequency behaviour.
